Katherine Lin

Katherine (Kathy) Lin, PhD, currently serves as Lead User Researcher at Turo, with a focus on quantitative specialization since May 2024. Previously, Katherine held various positions at Spotify from October 2019 to May 2024, including Insights/Research Manager and Senior User Researcher, where leadership of a research team and delivery of strategic research on personalized playlists were key achievements. Katherine has academic experience as an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Dartmouth College and as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, focusing on data collection and analysis in social research. Early career roles include experience at the University of Michigan's Population Studies Center and freelance research positions. Katherine earned a PhD in Sociology from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences, Sociology, and Global Health from Northwestern University.
