James Atkinson

James Atkinson possesses extensive experience in governance, finance, and consulting within various organizations. Currently serving on the Board of Directors for Tutoring Chicago and as a Volunteer Consultant for the Executive Service Corps since 2018, Atkinson has held significant positions including Independent Trustee and Chairman of the Board at Henderson Global Funds, where responsibilities included participation in the Audit and Governance Committees. Previous roles include Executive VP and CFO at Ariel Investments, Senior VP and CFO at Stein Roe & Farnham, and Audit Manager at Arthur Andersen & Co. Additionally, Atkinson has contributed as a Lead Independent Director for the Surgeons Diversified Investment Fund and as a Board Trustee at LaRabida Children's Hospital. Atkinson's academic foundation is a B.A. in Accountancy from Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
