Lena Trotochaud

Characterization Site Lead - Berkeley at twelve

Lena Trotochaud, PhD, is a highly experienced professional in the field of chemistry, currently serving as the Characterization Site Lead and Senior Staff Characterization Engineer at Twelve since August 2022. Prior to this role, Lena worked as a Research Scientist at Duke University Center for WaSH-AID, focusing on nutrient removal technologies for onsite wastewater treatment, where projects were led as Principal Investigator. Previously, Lena gained expertise as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Berkeley Lab, conducting in-depth studies on catalytic processes and thin film materials for electrocatalysis. Academic foundations were established at the University of Oregon, where Lena earned a PhD in Chemistry while actively engaging in research and teaching as a Graduate Research Assistant and Teaching Fellow. Additional outreach and educational contributions were made through various programs that fostered science interest among middle and high school students.
