Mayra Fierro has a diverse work experience in various industries and roles. In 2014, they worked as a Front Desk Staff at Jefferson Dental Clinics, where they greeted patients, scheduled appointments, and handled paperwork. Mayra then joined Farmers Insurance as a Dual Office Manager, responsible for policy service and supervising staff. In 2015, Mayra worked at City Auto Insurance as a Regional Manager, overseeing multiple agency locations and implementing communication standards. Mayra also worked as a Personal Lines Manager at TWFG Insurance during this time. From 2016 to 2017, Mayra served as a Resident Services Coordinator for Community Housing Resource Partners, focusing on resident programs and community engagement. In 2018, they founded Cereal & Civil Rights, a community conversation space. Mayra also worked as a Commercial Lines Account Manager at TWFG Insurance. In 2020, Mayra became a Department Assistant at Dallas College, followed by a role as a Marketing Communications Specialist at Cityscape Schools in 2021. Currently, Mayra is working as a Community Outreach Organizer at Texas Appleseed. Throughout their career, Mayra has demonstrated skills in communications, coordination, community engagement, and program development.
Mayra Fierro started their education journey at Dallas College from 2018 to 2022, where they pursued an Associate of Arts degree with an emphasis on Peace and Human Rights Studies. Following this, they attended The University of Texas at Dallas from 2022 to 2024, earning a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus on Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
In addition to their formal education, Mayra Fierro has obtained several certifications. In February 2023, they completed the HIGH5 Strengths Test, obtaining the strengths of Philomath, Catalyst, Deliverer, Believer, and Storyteller from HIGH5TEST. Mayra also obtained a certification as a Middle School & High School Facilitator from UCC- OUR WHOLE LIVES in August 2016.
Furthermore, Mayra Fierro acquired certifications from the CITI Program in October 2022, including Group 1.Biomedical Research Investigators and Key Personnel, as well as Group 2.Social and Behavioral Research Investigators and Key Personnel. Lastly, they obtained an Insurance Agent (Property & Casualty) certification from the Texas Department of Insurance in June 2009.
