Matthew Cleverley

Matthew Cleverley possesses extensive experience in animal management and conservation, currently serving as the Animal Team Manager for Birds, Herps & Invertebrates at Twycross Zoo since January 2020. With a background that includes roles as Deputy Team Leader and Team Leader for Large Mammals, Matthew oversees a diverse team and ensures high husbandry standards for numerous mammal species. Previous positions include Operational Consultant at Solitaire Land Trust, where responsibilities involved the development of the Solitaire Activity Centre and construction of a cheetah enclosure. Earlier experience includes Lead Keeper at Longleat, Project Manager at Solitaire Land Trust, Wildlife Biologist at N/a'an ku sê Wildlife Sanctuary, and Cheetah Keeper at the Cheetah Conservation Fund. Matthew holds a Bachelor's degree in Animal Science and Management from the Royal Agricultural University and an HND in Media Production with Business from Farnborough College of Technology.
