Joseph Simmons

Joseph Simmons has been working in the software engineering field since 2007. Joseph began their career as a Student Systems Consultant at The University of Texas at Austin. In 2009, they transitioned to a Support Engineer role at Lifesize, a division of Logitech. The following year, they took on two roles, as a Junior System Administrator at Hostgator.com and a Web Developer at The Austin Stone Community Church. In 2016, they became a Senior Software Engineer at The For the City Network, where they created and maintained a web application. In 2020, they began working as a Lead Software Engineering Instructor at General Assembly, where they conduct corporate training in full-stack software development. Currently, they are a Software Engineer Consultant at TXI.

Joseph Simmons is currently studying Computer Science at Western Governors University, with an expected graduation date of 2021. Prior to this, Joseph studied Physics at The University of Texas at Austin. Joseph also holds five Coursera Verified Certificates, obtained between June and October of 2014, in the areas of Reproducible Research, Exploratory Data Analysis, Getting and Cleaning Data, R Programming, and The Data Scientist’s Toolbox.
