Komu Wairagu

Komu Wairagu is a seasoned software engineer with a strong background in developing and optimizing software applications. Komu currently holds a role as a Senior Engineer at Tyk since July 2021. Prior to that, they worked at JUMO.WORLD as a Senior Software Engineer from June 2018 to the present, and as a Software Engineer from April 2015 to May 2018. Before joining JUMO.WORLD, Komu worked at Wezatele Ltd as a Software Developer from September 2013 to March 2015. During this time, they achieved significant improvements in various areas, including a 24% improvement in database query time for a client's eCommerce software application and the implementation of an SMS ordering solution for a large FMCG distributor that increased distribution efficiency. Komu also optimized in-house unit tests, resulting in a 16% decrease in runtime. Prior to Wezatele Ltd, they gained experience as an Experience Officer at http://myNGOcareer.com from November 2012 to January 2014, where they programmed the website's UI and back-end while focusing on improving client experience. Lastly, Komu worked as a Freelance web developer at Esan & Associates from January 2012 to March 2012, where they designed and programmed the firm's website, as well as optimized it for search engines.

Komu Wairagu attended the University of Nairobi from 2007 to 2012, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. In 2009, they briefly attended Zetech College and received a certificate in Web Design. In 2014, they enrolled at Dartmouth College, where their education status is ongoing. Komu is participating in the Mandela Washington Fellowship program, focusing on Business Administration and Management.
