Ian Simmons

Ian Simmons has a diverse range of work experience spanning several companies and roles. Ian most recently served as the Director of Product Portfolio Planning at u-blox, starting in September 2020. Prior to that, they held various positions at u-blox including Project Manager and Software Manager in the UK. Before joining u-blox, Ian was the Engineering Manager at Geotate from March 2008 to April 2009. Ian also held the position of Engineering Manager at NXP Software from August 2006 to March 2008. Ian has experience as a Project Manager at both Philips Software and Philips Advanced Projects Group, Redhill, United Kingdom. Ian also served as a Product Support Manager at Philips Paging Cambridge. Ian began their career as a Research Scientist at Philips Research Laboratories in 1987 and held that role until 1998.

Ian Simmons studied at the University of Greenwich from 1984 to 1987, where they received a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Computer and Communications Systems.
