Michael D.

Deputy CAG Chief at U.S. Army North (5th Army)

Michael D. has a diverse work experience in various organizations. Michael started their career in 2008 as a US Army Officer and served in roles such as Assault Platoon Leader, Scout Platoon Leader, and Rifle Company Executive Officer in the 10th Mountain Division of the United States Army. Michael then moved on to work as a Company Commander and Assistant Battalion Operations Officer in the 1st Cavalry Division. In 2016, they joined the Special Operations Command Europe as a Current Operations Officer and Future Operations Planner. From 2018 to 2020, they worked as a Research Assistant for the Combating Terrorism Center. In 2020, they served as a Graduate Capstone Consultant for the U.S. Department of State. Currently, they are working for U.S. Army North (5th Army) as the Deputy CAG Chief and has previously served as a Homeland Defense Strategic Planner.

Michael D. completed their Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Connecticut in 2007. In 2018, they began pursuing a Master of Public Administration degree with a specialization in International Security Policy and US National Security and Foreign Policy at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). Michael completed this program in 2020. During their time at Columbia, they also attended The United States Army War College to complete the Defense Strategy Course, which ended in 2018. Michael D. also participated in the Basic Strategic Art Program (Army Strategist Qualification Course) at The United States Army War College, which began before 2020.
