Chief, Internal Communications at U.S. Coast Guard

Christie St. Clair has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Christie started their career as a Senior Editor at D.C. STYLE in 2006 and later served as the Editor in Chief at Campaigns & Elections. In 2009, they worked as the Deputy Editor at Capitol File. From 2011 to 2013, Christie was a Partner at OnPoint Strategies, LLC. Christie then held communications-related positions, including as the Communications Director at Common Sense Coalition and as the Executive Director at The Centrist Project. In 2014, they joined the US Environmental Protection Agency as a Public Affairs Specialist. From 2017 to 2020, Christie worked for the U.S. Coast Guard, first as the Chief of Strategic Communications and later as the Chief of Internal Communications. In 2017, they also co-founded CrowdRescue HQ, a nonprofit organization focused on crowdsourcing rescue requests and supporting disaster relief efforts. Currently, they are an Executive Board Member at CEDR Digital Corps.

Christie St. Clair received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Journalism from the University of Maryland, where they studied from 1993 to 1997. Prior to that, they attended Randolph High School from 1989 to 1993. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained a Yoga Instructor Certification - Level I from YogaWorks in 2020, completed Dare to Lead training from Dare to Lead™ Trained in 2019, and is a Prosci certified change practitioner from Prosci.
