Deborah Melton

Deborah Melton is a seasoned HR professional with extensive experience in human resources across various government agencies. Currently serving as a Senior HR Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce since September 2022, Deborah is a DE certified HR practitioner. Previously, Deborah worked at USAID for over a decade, holding positions such as Senior HR Specialist and Supervisory Management & Program Analyst, where responsibilities included recruitment, staffing, policy accountability, and providing strategic advisory services to senior leadership. Earlier career roles include Human Resources Specialist at the National Institutes of Health and Program Analyst at the General Services Administration. Deborah holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Central State University and has also attended The Ohio State University. Additionally, Deborah has ongoing education from the Federal Executive Institute.
