Jim Jirjis

Jim Jirjis currently serves as the Deputy Chief of Staff at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, a position held since January 2025. Simultaneously, Jim Jirjis is a member of the Health Information Technology Advisory Committee (HITAC) for the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) since September 2019, advising on policies to enhance Health IT and support the 21st Century Cures Act. Prior experience includes serving as the Director of the Division of Data Policy and Standards at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) from September 2023 to October 2025 and as the Chief Health Information Officer at HCA Healthcare from September 2013 to September 2023. Jim Jirjis also held leadership positions at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and Vanderbilt University. Educational credentials include an MBA in Medicine from Vanderbilt University and a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from The University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.
