Lanre Akin

Lanre Akin, MBA, CIPP US, CISA, PMP has a diverse work experience in the field of cyber security and risk management. Currently, Lanre serves as a Cyber Security Lead at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, managing authority to operate (ATO) processes and ensuring security control compliance. Prior to this, Lanre worked as a Cyber Security Manager at Oracle, where they handled vendor management, vulnerability scans, and security documentation. Lanre also gained experience as an IT Security Lead at BNY Mellon, where they configured security controls and carried out RMF assessments. Additionally, Lanre worked as an Information Technology Security Analyst at PNC Bank, implementing a comprehensive Third-Party Risk Management program. They began their career as a Business Risk Analyst for the State of Nebraska, conducting risk assessments and ensuring compliance with security regulations. Lanre's extensive experience showcases their expertise in cyber security, risk assessment, compliance management, and vendor management.

Lanre Akin holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Hult International Business School, completed from 2010 to 2011. In addition to their MBA, Lanre has obtained several certifications including Splunk Core Certified Power User and Splunk Core Certified User from Splunk in 2023, Certified Information Systems Auditor® (CISA) from ISACA in 2017, and Project Management Professional (PMP)® from the Project Management Institute in 2014.
