Mark Dobson

Mark Dobson has extensive experience in library and information services, currently serving as an admin at the U.S. Embassy in South Africa since November 2015. Prior to this role, Mark has worked at the US Embassy in Pretoria since October 1994 in various capacities, including Public Affairs Management Specialist and Information Resource Center Director, focusing on high-quality reference services and youth outreach. Mark's earlier roles include Senior Librarian at the University of Cape Town, where responsibilities included managing the library's local area network and implementing a new library management system, and Subject Librarian at Natal Provincial Library Services. Mark holds a B.Bibl (Hons) in Library and Information Science and a Higher Diploma in Library and Information Science from the University of Cape Town, along with a Bachelor of Journalism from Rhodes University.
