Glen Vanherck

Glen "Fats" VanHerck serves as the Commander of NORAD and US Northern Command since August 2020. Previous roles include Director of the Joint Staff from July 2019 to August 2020, and Vice Director of the Joint Staff from August 2018 to July 2019. Notable positions in the United States Air Force include Vice Director of Strategy, Plans, and Policy (J5), Commander of the USAF Warfare Center, and Commander of the 509th and 7th Bomb Wings. Glen VanHerck also held significant roles at USSTRATCOM as Director of Plans and Integration, and at the 71st Flying Training Wing. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master of Applied Science in Management/Aviation from the University of Central Missouri, along with various military courses and training programs.
