Patrick Childress serves as Assistant General Counsel at the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative since March 2020. Previously, Patrick was an Associate in the International Arbitration Group at Sidley Austin LLP from January 2014 to March 2020, specializing in international investment treaty and commercial disputes, with notable experience defending a South American government in a significant arbitration case. Before this, Patrick held similar roles at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer and participated in strategic legal work with the United Nations Development Programme and The Global Fund. Patrick's foundational legal training was developed at Harvard Law School, culminating in a Juris Doctor degree in 2009, after obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree from Virginia Tech in 2004.
