Mohamed Abbass CPA, CIA, CISA

Mohamed Abbass has extensive experience in the field of auditing and accounting. Mohamed currently holds the position of Internal Audit Operations Manager at UAW Retiree Medical Benefits Trust, starting in November 2021. Prior to this role, they worked at Plastipak for several years, where they held various positions including Manager of Internal Audit, Senior Information Technology Auditor, Senior Internal Auditor, and General Accountant. Mohamed also gained experience as a Staff Accountant at Friedman Integrated Real Estate Solutions from 2012 to 2014. Mohamed began their career at Chrysler Financial, where they worked as a Remarketing Specialist from 2001 to 2005 and later as a Portfolio Manager from 2005 to 2010. Mohamed Abbass is a certified CPA, CIA, and CISA.

Mohamed Abbass earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Business Administration and Management, General from Northwood University. Mohamed attended Northwood University from 2002 to 2005. Following this, Mohamed pursued a Master of Science in Accountancy degree with a specialization in Accounting and Related Services at Walsh College. Mohamed completed their master's degree from 2007 to 2010.

In terms of certifications, Mohamed Abbass obtained the title of Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the State of Michigan in January 2014. Mohamed also achieved the certification of Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from ISACA in January 2020. Furthermore, they obtained the Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) certification from The Institute of Internal Auditors Inc. in September 2020.
