Gail Hochachka

Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Climate Action Pathways at UBC Faculty of Forestry

Gail Hochachka is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Forestry, focusing on climate action pathways and the underlying values influencing climate perceptions in Canada. Previously, Gail contributed to urban climate action research at MéridaLabs and conducted doctoral research at the University of Oslo, exploring the integration of human dimensions in climate change adaptation with fieldwork on coffee value chains in Guatemala. As the co-founder and Executive Director of Integral Without Borders, Gail developed a global network for international development, and prior roles included Program Director at One Sky-The Canadian Institute of Sustainable Living and Founder of Drishti - Centre for Integral Action, both of which emphasized sustainable development and social change. Gail holds a PhD in Human Geography from the University of Oslo, a Master's in Environmental Studies from the University of Victoria, and a Bachelor’s in Environmental Science from Western University.
