Walter Yan

Walter Yan is the President and Founder of Forestry AI, where responsibilities include proposing and leading innovative research projects aimed at enhancing forestry practices through advanced AI technology. Concurrently, Walter serves as a Graduate Research Assistant at the University of British Columbia's Faculty of Forestry, developing forest management and carbon budget models in Python. Previous roles include Resources Analyst at Forsite Consultants, where remote sensing data was collected to inform forest management plans, and International Business Manager at Shaoxing Fuxing Textiles and Garments Co., Ltd., focusing on global business collaborations. Walter has also held various teaching and research positions during academic studies at the University of British Columbia and Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, contributing to projects that analyze environmental data and assess public perceptions of climate change. Walter's educational background includes a Master of Science and dual Bachelor's degrees in Forestry and Ecology, all obtained from reputable institutions.
