Sigrun Jarlsdottir is currently a PhD candidate at UBC ICORD, a position held since January 2020. Prior to this role, Sigrun worked as a sleep researcher at Landspitali University Hospital from September 2018 to January 2020, focusing on clinical sleep research. Previous experience includes roles as an avdelingsingeniør at Folkehelseinstituttet, Biobanken, and as a bachelor student at Lab1 medisinsk laboratorium, where Sigrun was involved in HPLC-MS/MS, biological materials research, validation, and sample preparation. Additional experience at Folkehelseinstituttet included sample preparation for research, and earlier career roles featured a financial advisor position at Arion Bank and a warehouse worker at BAMA Gruppen AS. Sigrun holds a MSc in Neuroscience from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (2016-2018), a Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology and Chemistry Engineering from Oslo and Akershus University College (2013-2016), and completed secondary school with a focus on natural sciences at Menntaskólinn í Reykjavík (2008-2012).
