Reinhard Cluse

Reinhard Cluse is a seasoned economist with extensive experience in European and emerging market economies. Since October 2002, Reinhard has served as Chief European Economist and Managing Director at UBS, leading a top-rated European economics team recognized in the Institutional Investor survey from 2017 to 2023. Prior roles include Chief Economist for Europe & Emerging EMEA and Chief Economist for Emerging EMEA at Commerzbank Securities Ltd., along with positions as EMEA Economist at Commerzbank AG and Research Associate at the Walter Eucken Institut. Reinhard's academic credentials include a PhD in Economics from The University of Freiburg, where a focus was placed on the European Monetary Union, as well as a Diplom Volkswirt and a Vordiplom in Economics from the same university and Universität Passau, respectively.
