Julian Bello-Rodriguez, PhD, currently serves as a Proposal Development Coordinator at UCANR since September 2024. Previously, Julian was a Plant Pathology Scientist at Root Applied Sciences, where key achievements included the development and validation of molecular assays for pathogen detection and the mapping of airborne pathogen dispersion in California. As a Postdoctoral Research Associate at Newcastle University, Julian focused on non-destructive technologies for plant disease monitoring and coordinated biofungicide evaluations in hydroponic systems. Julian conducted population genetic studies on Downy Mildew Species at Michigan State University during a Ph.D. program in Plant Pathology/Phytopathology, which included DNA analysis and disease management strategies. Educational credentials include a Ph.D. from Michigan State University, a Master’s degree from Universidad de Los Andes, and a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Universidad de Los Andes.
