Dan Ness

Dan Ness has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Dan is currently working at UCare as the Vice President, Chief Marketing, and Digital Officer, a role they assumed in January 2023. Prior to this, they served as the Vice President of Marketing, Public Relations, and Digital Transformation (interim) at UCare from July 2022 to February 2023.

From 2015 to the present, Dan has also been running their own company, Ness Communications LLC, where they serve as a Marketing/PR/Brand Strategist.

Before venturing into entrepreneurship, Dan worked at UCare as the Marketing Director from 2004 to 2015. In this role, they directed overall marketing, public relations, and branding strategies for a $3.2 billion healthcare organization.

Dan's career started in 1985 as the Managing Editor of The Community Crier. Dan then went on to hold various marketing and communications positions at Park Nicollet Medical Center, Children's Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, Weber Shandwick, and Russell Herder. Notably, at Russell Herder, Dan led a team of advertising/PR professionals and developed campaigns for clients in the healthcare, telecommunications, entertainment, and lifestyle sectors.

Overall, Dan Ness brings a wealth of experience in marketing, public relations, and digital transformation to their current role at UCare.

Dan Ness has a BA in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of Minnesota. Dan also attended Jefferson High School in Alexandria, MN. In addition, they have obtained certifications in Digital Marketing, including the Certified Digital Marketing Professional (CDMP) and Digital Marketing Fundamentals, both from the University of St. Thomas - Opus College of Business in 2020.
