James Hlavenka

James Hlavenka, Esq. has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries. James started their career as a Civil Rights and Constitutional Law Litigation intern at The Center for Social Justice, where they prepared legal memoranda and counseled clients on civil rights cases. James then served as a Judicial Clerk at the Superior Court of New Jersey, Appellate Division, where they drafted bench memoranda and reviewed judicial opinions.

After that, James worked as a Food and Drug Administration & Pharmaceuticals Attorney at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney PC. In this role, they provided legal counsel on regulatory matters related to pharmaceutical products.

Following this, they joined UCB, a pharmaceutical company, where they held several positions, including Senior Counsel for US Neurology & US Immunology. As Senior Counsel, they provided legal advice on various topics related to the commercialization and promotion of pharmaceutical products. James also served as Head of Strategy & Operations, Chief of Staff, and Ecosystem Lead (General Manager) for the Gulf Coast region, where they developed strategies and orchestrated external-facing roles.

In the future, James is set to become the Chairman of the Board of Directors at the Epilepsy Foundation of Georgia, further expanding their leadership roles and contributions to the community.

James Hlavenka, Esq. obtained their Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree with a specialization in Health Law from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2010. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Psychology and Government & Law from Lafayette College in 2007. James is also a certified Attorney by both the New Jersey State Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association in 2010. Additionally, James Hlavenka holds a certification as a Certified ScrumMaster from the Scrum Alliance, which was obtained in 2018.
