Kaydi Nomura is a mechanical engineering student at UC Irvine, expected to graduate in June 2026, with extensive experience in engineering and leadership roles. Currently involved in the NASA L'SPACE Program as a Mission Concept Academy participant and serving as a Braking Engineer for UCI HyperXite in the SpaceX Hyperloop Competition, Kaydi has demonstrated proficiency in design validation using SolidWorks and Finite Element Analysis (FEA). As the President of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers at UCI, notable accomplishments include winning the 2023-2024 ASME Student Section Achievement Award and significantly enhancing networking opportunities for engineering students. Prior experience includes internships at Northrop Grumman, where Kaydi engineered critical flight drawings and applied advanced GD&T principles, and MetroLaser, Inc., where testing was conducted using Laser Doppler Velocimetry. Additional experience includes a media assistant role at Bayside Real Estate Partners.
