John McDonald

John McDonald has a diverse work experience in the field of communication and education. John started their career as a News Associate at CBS News in 1983. Later, they worked as an Advance Lead for Tom Bradley's campaign for Governor and as a Press Secretary for the Lieutenant Governor of California. In 1989, John became the Director of Communications for the Los Angeles Educational Partnership. From 1994 to 2014, they served as the President/Owner of Stone's Throw, a strategic communications company. In 2015, John started their own independent communication consulting firm. Currently, they are the Director of the Sudikoff Institute for Education and Media at the UCLA Graduate School of Education & Information Studies, where they lead efforts to promote education research and ideas through various media platforms.

John McDonald obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from California State University, Chico, from 1975 to 1979. John'seducation history also includes studying journalism/public relations at UCLA, without completing a specific degree or program.
