Born in Dnipro, Andrii Pavelko has been fond of football since early childhood and was a keen player at school. At the age of 26, as a student and successful businessman, he took charge of the Football Federation of Dnipropetrovska Oblast. He now has degrees in legal studies and economics.
Pavelko was elected to the Ukrainian Association of Football (UAF) executive committee in 2003, and served as UAF vice-president from 2012 to 2015.
He was elected as UAF president in March 2015, and re-elected for a five-year term in June 2017. He was elected to the UEFA Executive Committee as a member at the Ordinary UEFA Congress in Rome in February 2019.
