Frédéric Girod

Data Scientist And Quantitative Analyst at UEFA

Frédéric Girod has extensive work experience in various roles. Frédéric began their career as a Semi-Professional Athlete for AUS Schiltigheim and various other clubs from 1998 to 2008. Frédéric then worked as a Senior Derivatives Trader at Credit Mutuel CIC from October 1998 to February 2006, where they managed credit and equity derivatives arbitrage and systematic trading strategies. Frédéric was also the head of the structuring desk and fixed income options trading.

From 2006 to 2015, Frédéric worked at Unigestion as a Director and Senior Quantitative Fund Manager. In this role, they ran portfolio construction tools and statistical models, performed research projects to enhance the investment process, and was a member of the Investment Committee.

Frédéric then joined SPORT ASSURE in January 2016 as a Data Scientist and Quantitative Analyst, where they harnessed the power of data science and machine learning algorithms for managing sports trading portfolios and generating high and steady absolute returns. Frédéric also designed capital-protected short term structured products on sports trading and machine learning algorithms for performing statistical arbitrage investment strategies.

In December 2017, they joined UEFA as a Data Scientist and Quantitative Analyst. Their role involves utilizing their skills in data science and quantitative analysis for UEFA.

Starting from August 2018, Frédéric also took on the position of Sports Data Scientist at BBC Nyon.

Frédéric Girod completed their Master of Science (MSc) degree in International Finance at Université Louis Pasteur (Strasbourg I) from 1997 to 1998. Prior to that, they also obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Management Sciences and Quantitative Methods from the same university from 1996 to 1997.

In terms of additional certifications, Frédéric obtained a certification in Math & IA from Math & IA in March 2021. In December 2016, they earned a certification in Hadoop Platform and Application Framework from Coursera. Additionally, they completed a Machine Learning course offered by Stanford University through Coursera, obtaining the certificate in November 2016. Frédéric is also scheduled to attend the ACP SUMMER SCHOOL 2023 on Machine Learning for Constraint Programming at KU Leuven, with an expected completion in July 2023.
