Corporate Controller Job Summary
The Corporate Controller will oversee high-level financial and managerial accounting for the company, supervising accounting operations from payroll to tax compliance. The position will report to the Head of Finance and will assist with the development of internal control policies, accounting policies, procedures, and financial planning as needed.
Corporate Controller Duties and Responsibilities
Corporate Controller Requirements and Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field.
The ideal candidate has 5 to 10 years of senior experience in the field.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) license required.
Previous managerial experience in a Finance role.
Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Experience and proficiency in NetSuite accounting software an asset.
Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) under IFRS.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Advanced knowledge of accounting best practices, laws, standards, and regulations.
Analytical ability to develop and implement improvements or recommendations.
Attention to detail.
Able to work well with senior executives and team, as well as mentor/lead other team members.
Working knowledge of project finance structures, including tax equity, and related accounting requirements an asset.
