Steven Marwick BSc, MBCS CITP, MIoL has a diverse work experience spanning over 30 years. Steven is currently the Head of IT & InfoSec at the UK Centre for Ecology & Hydrology (UKCEH) since March 2020. Prior to this, they served as a Director / Trustee at Greenham Control Tower Ltd from December 2017 to December 2022. Steven also worked as the Group IT Manager at Alderley plc from November 2016 to March 2020 and as an IT Manager at Addison Lee in 2016. Steven was the IT Services Manager at Denplan from October 2009 to May 2016 and held the position of Manager - European IT Operations at Blackbaud Europe Ltd from January 2005 to October 2009. Earlier in their career, Steven served as a Network Team Leader at First Engineering Ltd (Babcock) from July 1998 to January 2005. Steven started their career in the IT field as an IT Assistant (Networks) at James Scott (AMEC) from May 1997 to May 1998. Prior to their IT career, Steven worked in the Royal Air Force from July 1988 to May 1997, primarily focused on Air Traffic Control, Operations, and Flight Planning.
Steven Marwick holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in IT and Business Studies from The Open University, which was obtained in 2018. Prior to that, they attended Glenrothes High School from 1981 to 1987. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including being a Member of The Institute of Leadership & Management in 2022, the EU General Data Protection Regulation Foundation certification from IBITGQ in 2017, the Certificate in Information Security Management Principles (CISMP) from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2011, the Chartered IT Professional certification from BCS in 2008, the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management from BCS in 2008, and the CompTIA Security+ certification from CompTIA in 2004.
