Ahmed Garad, P.E. has a diverse work experience spanning over several companies and roles. Ahmed began their career as a Supervisor/Pharmacy Tech at Snyders Drug Stores in 2004 and worked there until 2007. From 2007 to 2010, Ahmed worked as a Bank Teller at City-County Federal Credit Union. In 2010, they joined AmeriCorps as a Program Coordinator, addressing critical needs in communities across America. In 2011, Ahmed interned as an Electrical Engineer at HDR, where they analyzed one-line diagrams, calculated conductor ampacity ratings, and performed engineering calculations. Then, in 2012, they joined Ulteig as a Substation Engineer, designing substations according to industry guidelines and client requirements. Ahmed subsequently held roles as an Engineering Supervisor and Technical Manager at Ulteig, responsible for the supervision and technical management of substation projects. Throughout their career, Ahmed has demonstrated expertise in engineering and design, as well as a commitment to community service and meeting critical needs in various settings.

Ahmed Garad, P.E. has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Minnesota and a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) from the University of St. Thomas. Ahmed obtained their Bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and their Master's degree from the University of St. Thomas.

In addition to their educational background, Ahmed Garad has obtained various certifications. Ahmed completed the "Become a Better Coach for Your Team" certification from LinkedIn in June 2021 and the "Leadership Fundamentals Training" from the Center for Creative Leadership in October 2019. Ahmed also holds the Professional Engineer (PE) certification from the Michigan Board of Professional Licensure and the Professional Engineer certification from the Minnesota Board of AELSLAGID, both obtained in 2016 and 2019 respectively.

Furthermore, Ahmed Garad has completed additional training courses and certifications including "Protecting Power Systems For Engineers (PROT 401)" from SEL in November 2015, "NEC Training Course" from BrainFiller in July 2015, "ETAP Training [ Power Systems Engineering 1 ] ( ETAP 114)" from ETAP - Operation Technology, Inc. in March 2014, and "Introduction to Substation Design" from EUCI in February 2013. Ahmed also holds the Engineer in Training (EIT) certification from NCEES obtained in December 2013, and the Professional Engineer certification from the Iowa Professional Licensing Bureau obtained in May 2017.
