Andrea Lacasia

Andrea (Bieser) Lacasia, Pharm.D. has extensive experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Andrea (Bieser) is currently serving as the Senior Director of Global Medical Information and Communications at Ultragenyx since February 2023. Prior to this role, they held a similar position as the Senior Director of Global Medical Information, Medical Communications, and Medical Education at Ultragenyx starting from October 2019.

Before joining Ultragenyx, Dr. Lacasia worked at Agios Pharmaceuticals as the Director of Global Medical Information, Managed Care, and Medical Education, Global Medical Affairs from November 2016 to September 2019.

Earlier in their career, they held various positions at Genentech, A member of the Roche Group. Andrea (Bieser) started as a Medical Communications Scientist in BioOncology from April 2008 to March 2012 before progressing to the role of Senior Medical Communications Scientist in BioOncology from March 2012 to March 2015. Finally, they served as the Principal Medical Communications Leader in BioOncology from March 2015 to November 2016.

Dr. Lacasia also gained experience at NorthShore University HealthSystem as a Hospital Pharmacy Manager from March 2005 to November 2006, and at INSEAD as a Research Assistant from November 2004 to January 2005.

Andrea (Bieser)'searly career included roles as an Associate Med Communications Scientist in BioOncology at Genentech from October 2002 to July 2004, a Clinical Pharmacist at Kaiser Permanente from September 2000 to October 2002, and a General Pharmacy Practice Resident at NorthShore University HealthSystem from June 1999 to June 2000.

Andrea (Bieser) Lacasia, Pharm.D. holds a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of California, San Francisco. Andrea (Bieser) also completed a General Practice Residency in Clinical Pharmacy from Northwestern University. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry and German, from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Andrea has also obtained several additional certifications, including the Leadership Expansion And Development (LEAD) program from Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. in 2021, the Genentech Emerging Manager certification from Genentech in 2016, and the RPh license from the California Board of Pharmacy and Illinois Board of Pharmacy in 2000.
