Garrett Lam

Chief Medical Officer at Ultrasound AI Inc.

Garrett Lam is the Chief Medical Officer at Ultrasound AI Inc. Garrett was previously with the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, the University of Utah School of Medicine, and Sera Prognostics.

At Sera Prognostics, Dr. Lam's primary duty was to merge the work output of clinical operations with the branches of research and development and commercialization in a privately funded biotechnology company. Utilizing their medical training in high risk obstetrics, blended with their skills in leadership/management, business administration and basic science, they worked with their MFM peer network to complete research projects on the company's proteomic biomarker for preterm birth risk assessment. Their goal was to show that early risk assessment allowed for the use of known clinical interventions in increased risk patients that would lead to improved neonatal health and savings in medical spending.

They completed a 2nd prospective serum collection study of 5000+ subjects that produced an editor's choice publication in AJOG MFM. Garrett also worked with MFM peers in Investigator Initiated Projects that are now completed. The first, a 1200 subject RCT that assessed the utility of PTB risk with interventions on patients with increased risk for PTB, was selected for poster presentation at the SRI, and is under editorial evaluation for publication. The 2nd study, a similar risk assessment/intervention trial using historical controls, is undergoing data analysis. Both studies are registered on clinicaltrials.gov.

In addition to their work on research projects, Dr. Lam also collaborated on drafting and revising multiple manuscripts, abstracts and oral presentations, and partnered with the commercial and business officers on presentations to payers, influencers, investors, and the clinical officers of healthcare and non-profit organizations on local, regional, national & international levels. Their endeavor in the biotech industry was meant to further their personal vision: make the greatest positive impact for the greatest number of people.

Garrett Lam's educational career began with a fellowship in maternal and fetal medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Garrett then attended the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine degree. After medical school, Lam completed an internship and residency in pediatrics at Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center (Banner Health, now BUMC-Phoenix). Garrett is also certified by Pediatrix Corp as a Certified Medical Leader.

They are on a team with Robert Bunn - President & Founder, David Dahn - Chief Financial Officer. Garrett Lam reports to Pamela Bonnett, CEO.
