UMC Utrecht Brain Center
The UMC Utrecht Brain Center is an internationally recognised research center in clinical and experimental neuroscience. Research into the development and functioning of the central nervous system in health and disease plays a central role. We focus on six different disease areas: - developmental disorders - epilepsy - neuromuscular disorders - neuro-oncology - personalized psychiatry - stroke All disease areas aim to translate basic science and patient driven research questions into clinical diagnostic methods, prediction models, and novel treatments. Underlying these disease areas we have four different research methods and approaches: genetic risks, from research to care, translational research, and neuroimaging & neurotechnology.
