Domenico Grasso currently serves as the President of the University of Michigan since May 2025. Previously, Grasso held the position of Chancellor and Professor at the University of Michigan-Dearborn from August 2018 to May 2025. Grasso's extensive academic leadership includes serving as Provost and Professor at the University of Delaware from August 2013 to July 2018, and as Dean of Engineering and Mathematical Sciences, Vice President for Research, and Professor at the University of Vermont from January 2005 to July 2013. Earlier in the career, Grasso was the Rosemary Bradford Hewlett Professor and Founding Director of the Picker Engineering Program at Smith College from January 2000 to January 2005. Grasso holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan and a M.S. in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.
