Kristen Mittelsteadt is a highly experienced scientist with a strong background in molecular and cellular biology. Currently serving as a Principal Scientist at Umoja Biopharma since August 2020, Kristen has advanced from Scientist to Senior Scientist in this role. Prior to this, Kristen worked at the Benaroya Research Institute at Virginia Mason from March 2015 to August 2020 as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Doctoral Candidate, focusing on the maintenance and function of regulatory T cell subsets. Kristen also gained experience as a Biotechnology Extern at RareCyte in mid-2015, a Research Scientist at the University of Washington from August 2010 to September 2014, and a Research Intern at the Student Conservation Association in early 2010. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology from the University of Washington, completed in 2020, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology from Whitman College, obtained in 2009.
