David Martz

David Martz has over 30 years of work experience in various finance and strategy roles. David is currently the EVP Director of Strategy & Corporate Development at Umpqua Bank, a position they have held since 2023. Prior to joining Umpqua Bank, David worked at Columbia Bank as the EVP, Director of Finance from 2013 to 2023. At Columbia Bank, they were responsible for managing the corporate budget and forecast, asset-liability management, financial reporting, and various other financial initiatives. Before that, David served as the SVP, Finance Manager at West Coast Bank from 2000 to 2013, where they handled financial analysis and strategic decision-making. David also worked at SAIF Corporation as the Manager of Research & Analysis from 1997 to 2000, focusing on management reporting and business intelligence. David started their career at U.S. Bank as the VP of Corporate Development from 1991 to 1997, coordinating mergers and acquisitions. David began their professional journey as a Financial Analyst at Lotus Development from 1987 to 1991, where they developed forecast models and managed channel inventory.

David Martz earned a Master of Science degree in Finance from Boston College Carroll School of Management from 1989 to 1991. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Finance at the University of Oregon from 1982 to 1987.
