Lene Westergaard has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Currently, they hold positions at Global Compact Network Denmark as the Head of Programmes for Human Rights, Diversity & Inclusion, and Anti-Corruption, as well as a Network Manager. Lene is also an Advisory Board Member at Syddansk Universitet Efter- og Videreuddannelse. Previously, Lene worked as a Senior Advisor at Danske Rederier, where they led stakeholder engagement and developed strategies for the shipping industry. Prior to that, they served as the Head of Section/Project Manager at Naturstyrelsen, Miljøstyrelsen, Patientskadeankenævnet, and Direktoratet for FødevareErhverv, where they managed projects, engaged with various stakeholders, and executed on politically sensitive cases.

Lene Westergaard's education history includes a Cand. Jur. degree in Juridiske Studier, Generelt from Københavns Universitet - University of Copenhagen, which was obtained from 1994 to 2000. Lene also pursued a Diploma in project management at Implement in 2011. In 2006, Lene participated in the International Environmental Negotiations and Diplomacy program at UNEP South Africa. Additionally, they completed a Fagjournalist program at Danmarks Medie- og Journalisthøjskole from 2014 to 2016. Lene also obtained another Cand. jur. degree in Jura from the University of Copenhagen.
