Vera Almeida

Vera Almeida has extensive work experience in the language operations and translation field. Vera currently holds the position of Director of Language Operations at Unbabel since October 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Head of LangOps, Linguistic Resources Team Lead, Implementation Manager, and Community Manager at Unbabel. Their responsibilities included linguistic setup for onboarding clients, creating and managing termbases, managing TM servers, and building communities of linguistic resources creators and translators. Before joining Unbabel, Vera worked as a Project Manager at Glossarium - Traduções e Serviços de Informática, Lda. and Eurologos Lisboa. Vera also has experience as a freelance Translator, specializing in personal documents, technical guides, subtitling, and voiceover translations.

Vera Almeida completed a Bachelor's degree in Línguas e Literaturas Modernas - Estudos Portugueses e Ingleses at Universidade Nova de Lisboa from 1999 to 2004. Vera then pursued a Master's degree in Translation at the same university in 2006. In 2016, they attended ISEG - Lisbon School of Economics & Management for a post-graduation course in Project Management. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a Certified Trainer from the Instituto de Emprego e Formação Profissional in 2005.
