Senior Analytics Developer

Engineering · Canada · Remote possible

Job description

We’re a people-first, customer-obsessed company motivated by our passion for empowering digital marketers to achieve success with their campaigns. With intuitive landing page builders and a comprehensive suite of AI-powered features, our Conversion Intelligence platform helps you grow smarter.

Our team's technical expertise and creativity work together to drive our mission forward every day. We aim to continue being an innovative and inspiring company that both our customers and employees admire—and we invite our future team members to join us!

About the role:

Have you ever wanted to be part of a disruptive, innovative new solution that is changing how your users do their jobs? We have an exciting vision and strategy to enable smart conversions for our customers and you could be a big part of it.

We’re looking for a spectacular Senior Analytics Developer to join our Data Platform team, to own and curate our expansive data repository, used by nearly all business areas at Unbounce (i.e. Data Science, Revenue, Product, Customer Support, Operations).

Our current focus is to move the business towards a unified data strategy, in a way that minimizes time spent on low-impact analysis and maximizes high-impact, data-driven decisions.

The Data Platform team enables other teams by building the data ecosystem upon which strategic insights, customer value and business priorities are driven. As a key contributor to both Analytics and Data Engineering, you’ll own and develop optimized Analytics architecture and pipelines, and translate business needs into excellent data solutions. We believe in fostering an environment that promotes growth, engagement, team ownership, responsibility, initiative and empowerment.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Curate and scale the company’s analytics foundations by providing the business with accurate, consumable, reliable, and accessible data and metrics
  • Work closely with multiple teams across the business to understand their needs and ensure we can support their data requirements
  • Implement and publish consumable datasets that enable self-serve exploration and analysis by our users
  • Consolidate existing complex systems into simpler, unified solutions to both reduce maintenance requirements as well as unlock value and opportunity across the organization
  • Build the data foundations to support actionable KPIs, production-quality dashboards, informative deep dives, and scalable data solutions
  • Help prioritize the team’s backlog, balancing urgent support requests over longer-term initiatives
  • Influence leadership to drive more data-informed decisions
  • Contribute to team ownership of our codebase and systems
  • Grow technical skills within and outside the team through code reviews, pairings, demos, etc.
  • Set and maintain standards around data governance, code quality, and efficient communication and evangelize best practices within the team and company

A little bit about you:

  • 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering or a similar role
  • Strong SQL skills – you are comfortable working with complex datasets, and writing clean efficient code to turn raw data into business insights
  • Hands-on experience with analytics pipelines and ELT processes - ideal candidates would have experience with DBT.
  • Experience with database management, data warehouse design and distributed systems
  • Strong business acumen and a love for developing cross-functional relationships
  • Experience with BI tools (Tableau, MixPanel, Looker, Power BI, etc.)
  • Understanding of data best practices and governance – you have built systems that provide available, correct and secure data
  • Ability to translate analytical insights into clear recommendations and effectively communicate them to technical and non-technical stakeholders, driving business needs into actionable insights
  • You write tests, documentation, and data definitions without exception
  • Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, and machine learning engineers to understand their requirements and deliver analytics solutions that meet their needs
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in analytics engineering and incorporate them into our workflows
