Mark Pittman has a wealth of experience in various roles within the field of human resources. Mark started their career in 1989 at Duke Energy Corporation as a Call Center Specialist. Mark then moved on to Belk, where they worked as a Human Resources & Operations Manager for nearly a decade. Following that, they joined Performance Contracting Group, Inc. as an Accounts Payable & Fixed Assets Manager. In 2003, they joined Vidant Health, first as a Compensation Manager and later as an Administrator of Total Rewards. In 2016, they joined North Mississippi Health Services as the Vice President of Human Resources Operations. In 2020, they became the Vice President of Human Resources at Hamilton Health Care System. Currently, they hold the role of Chief Human Resources Officer at UNC Health Blue Ridge, starting in June 2022.
Mark Pittman obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Accounting from Belmont Abbey College, which they attended from 1985 to 1990. In 2008 and 2009, they pursued further education at East Carolina University, where they completed a Mini-MBA program with a focus on Business Administration and Management.

On October 1, 2021, we became UNC Health Blue Ridge and joined the UNC Health family. The organizations share a unique and special commitment to rural healthcare in the Mountain Region of North Carolina and are jointly committed to enhancing and growing access to high-quality healthcare close to home for generations to come. UNC Health Blue Ridge is a comprehensive healthcare system, providing advanced healthcare and wellness services from nearly 50 locations across a three-county region of Western North Carolina. The system includes one hospital with two locations, a wellness center, and a continuing care retirement community. Nearly 120 primary care physicians, physician specialists, and extenders in the Blue Ridge Medical Group combine with other physicians on the Medical Staff to serve patients in the region. Blue Ridge provides graduate medical education programs for medical school graduates and students in osteopathic medicine.
