Rana Zand

Partner at UNCMMN

Rana Zand was born and raised in Potomac, MD, a first-generation child of Tehran-born Iranian immigrant engineers. She fell in love with film, music, and everything in between, after watching The Sound of Music for the first time at the ripe age of 3.

She graduated from Boston University with a major in International Relations and a minor in Public Relations. After graduation and a lot of convincing, her mom 'let' her work in Los Angeles while she "waited to hear back from law schools."

Zand started in the WME Mailroom in March 2010 and became an agent trainee before she decided to pursue a career in management in 2014. She worked at Fullscreen, where she helped start their management division in her first year, then moved over to Big Frame as a senior talent manager for three years. Knowing she wanted to marry her background in traditional and digital, she officially claimed her title as Head of Digital Talent at Authentic in March 2017.

In her four years at Authentic, Rana focused on growing the division, from hiring a team to expand its digital roster. Rana’s successfully crossed-over digitally-native talent to traditional mediums, landing shows on major networks like HBO, HULU, and Nickelodeon, and endorsements with brands like Visa, Burberry, Gucci and more. In 2019, she was on Variety's Dealmakers Up Next List.

As of May 2021, Rana joined the UNCMMN team as Partner to help spearhead digital strategy development for online talent as well as traditional clients; helping actors and writers build their digital presence on platforms such as Youtube, Instagram, and more.
