Matthew Brubacher is a seasoned consultant specializing in climate change, fragility, conflict, and violence, currently serving as a Fragility, Conflict & Violence Consultant at The World Bank and a Climate Change Adviser at The Carter Center. With extensive experience in various roles at UNDP, including Climate and Energy Advisor and Economic and Energy Advisor, Matthew has contributed to building a green economic recovery in conjunction with drafting Libya's first National Determined Contribution. Previous positions include Lead Author for the 2023 Global Assessment Report on Disaster Risk Reduction at UNDRR and Lead Researcher at UNODC, focusing on the intersection of climate change and crime. Matthew holds multiple advanced degrees, including a Master of Science in Climate Change and Sustainable Development from SOAS University of London and an LLM in Public International Law from The London School of Economics and Political Science.
