Esther Kuisch Laroche

Esther Kuisch Laroche currently serves as the Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean at UNESCO, a position held since April 2024, in which responsibilities include directing the regional office and representing UNESCO in Chile. Previously, Esther was the Director of Partnerships at UNDSS from April 2021 to April 2024. Esther also held dual roles as Director and UNESCO Representative from July 2014 to March 2021, leading the UNESCO Office in San José, Costa Rica, and representing the organization in multiple Central American countries. Prior to that, Esther directed the UNESCO Office in Tehran, overseeing operations in Iran, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Educational credentials include a Master's degree in Education from Penn State University, a Master's degree in Latin American Studies from Leiden University, and a certificate in Child Protection from Harvard University.
