Julien Marneffe has a diverse range of work experiences in the field of humanitarian protection and policy. Julien has held various positions at organizations such as UNHCR, the Norwegian Refugee Council, the International Rescue Committee, Oxfam, and Catholic Relief Services. Some of their notable roles include Head of Standards, Learning and Development (Global Protection Cluster) at UNHCR, Senior Humanitarian Policy and Protection Adviser at the Norwegian Refugee Council, and Community-based Protection Technical Specialist at the International Rescue Committee. Julien has extensive experience in developing and implementing protection programs, providing technical support to country teams, and coordinating with various stakeholders and donors. Julien is also involved in research and knowledge dissemination related to community-based protection programming. Julien Marneffe earned a Licence in Law (International Law) from Université catholique de Louvain from 2000 to 2005. Julien then pursued an Erasmus degree in Law (International Law & Human Rights) at Utrecht University from 2004 to 2005. Later, from 2006 to 2008, they attended Diplomatic Academy Wien and obtained an M.A. in International Studies. Lastly, they completed their education with an M.A. in Conflict Resolution from Georgetown University, where they studied from 2008 to 2010.
