Maria Ferrante

Maria Ferrante is an experienced humanitarian professional with a focus on protection and support for vulnerable populations. Currently serving as the Regional MCO Protection Officer at UNHCR, Maria oversees EU affairs in Belgium, Luxembourg, Ireland, and The Netherlands. Prior to this role, Maria held various positions within UNHCR, including Protection Officer for the Rohingya Refugee Emergency Response and Head of the Field Unit. Experience also includes serving as a Humanitarian Instructor for the United Nations and working as a consultant on humanitarian protection and forced migration. Maria's academic background includes a Master's degree in Human Rights and Conflict Management from Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna and an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance from Fordham University, among others.
