Dayse Sena

Dayse Sena, MD PhD has a diverse and extensive work experience in the medical and clinical research field. Dayse started their career as a Clinical Trial Specialist II at PAREXEL in 2008 before transitioning to the Massachusetts General Hospital-Neurology Department as a Team Leader - Clinical Research. In 2009, they became the Manager of Retina Science & Technology at Ora Clinical Research & Development, where they led research projects and ensured smooth transition of new products to clinical testing. Dayse then served as the Director of Medicine Discovery at GlaxoSmithKline, leading a clinical matrix team and providing medical monitoring support for clinical development plans. Dayse also worked as the Director of Medical Affairs at Bausch & Lomb, where they were responsible for medical assessment and monitoring of clinical safety in trials. Dayse has also held academic positions, serving as an Oftalmologista (Ophthalmologist) and Oftalmologista - Preceptor/Pesquisador (Ophthalmologist - Preceptor/Researcher) at UFPE and Instituto de Medicina Integral Professor Fernando Figueira - IMIP. Dayse is currently an MD at UNIFESP, and previously worked as a Principal Investigator - Clinical Trial Phase 3 at União Química Farmacêutica Nacional. Throughout their career, they have provided project management, protocol development, and operational support in clinical development, established relationships with key opinion leaders, liaised with advisory boards and regulatory agencies, and supervised CRO relationships. Dayse has consulted and supported companies like Paraxel, Ora, GlaxoSmithKline, and Bausch & Lomb.

Dayse Sena, MD, PhD has a diverse education history. Dayse obtained their Medical Degree (MD) from Universidade Federal de Pernambuco from 1983 to 1989. Dayse then pursued a Master's Degree in Ophthalmology at Universidade de São Paulo from an unspecified start year to 1999. Dayse went on to complete a PhD in Ophthalmology and Molecular Biology at Universidade Federal de São Paulo, from an unspecified start year to 2003. Dayse furthered their education with a Senior Research Fellowship in Molecular Biology at Harvard University from 2001 to 2007.

In terms of business and management education, Dayse earned a Sloan Executive Certificate in Technology, Operations, and Value Chain Management from MIT Sloan School of Management in 2007-2008. Dayse is a candidate for an MBA from Isenberg School of Management at UMass Amherst, with an anticipated completion date in 2014. Dayse also completed a prerequisites program for an MBA in Medical Management from the American College of Physician Executive, affiliated with UMass Amherst.

Alongside their academic achievements, Dayse obtained a certification in "Seminário Harmonização da Analise Ética e Elaboração de Pareceres no Sistema CEP/CONEP" from Even3 in 2022.
