Jim Lane is an experienced professional with a background in social services, law enforcement, and community outreach. Currently serving as the First Steps Manager and Volunteer Case Manager at Union Gospel Mission since May 2021, Jim has previously held roles including Sexual Assault Prevention-Disability Professionals Trainer at The Arc Of Spokane and Men's New Life Program Manager at Redwood Gospel Mission. With a history of leadership positions, such as Sergeant at the Marin County Sheriff's Office and various event coordination roles, Jim has demonstrated a commitment to ministering to the needy and mobilizing community volunteers. Jim holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Government from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an Associate's Degree from Greenfield Community College.

Partnering with the Inland Northwest to reach the poor with the love and power of the gospel so they may become God-dependent, contributing members of society. What began as a downtown soup kitchen in 1951 has expanded into a comprehensive ministry with four shelters, three recovery programs, two thrift stores, an automotive enterprise and a summer camp for underprivileged youth.
