Elena de Miguel

Elena de Miguel has a diverse work experience in the field of research and histology imaging. Elena is currently working as an Associate Director of Histology and Imaging at uniQure. Prior to this, they were the Histology Imaging Facility Coordinator at VUmc from 2019 to 2021. Elena has also worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Helsinki from 2014 to 2018, focusing on the effects of GABA-drugs on the dopamine reward system. Elena has also held roles as a Visiting Research Fellow at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore in 2016 and as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at Saint Petersburg State University from 2003 to 2007. Additionally, they briefly worked as a Visiting Researcher at the University of Helsinki in 2006.

From 2001 to 2007, Elena de Miguel pursued their Master of Science (MSc) degree in Physiology, General at Saint Petersburg State University. Following this, from 2008 to 2013, they obtained their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Medicine from the University of Helsinki.
