Mathieu Streefland

Vice President Global Process Development at uniQure

Mathieu Streefland has a diverse work experience in the field of pharmaceutical and biotechnology process development. Mathieu has held various leadership roles in companies such as uniQure, Kiadis Pharma, and MSD. In their current role as Vice President Global Process Development at uniQure, they are responsible for overseeing analytical development, process development, and drug product development activities. At Kiadis Pharma, they served as Vice President CMC Development, leading global CMC and development for cell therapy programs. Mathieu also has experience as a Principal Scientist at uniQure, heading the Process Development department. Prior to that, they worked at MSD as an Associate Principal Scientist, contributing to the commercialization of Keytruda and technical transfer of other biologics. Additionally, they have academic experience as an Assistant Professor at Wageningen University and as a PhD student focusing on biopharmaceutical research. Streefland's early career includes roles at Nederlands Vaccin Instituut and Yacht Technology as a scientist and interim professional respectively.

Mathieu Streefland completed their MSc in Biopharmaceutical Sciences at Leiden University from 1996 to 2001. Mathieu then pursued a PhD in Bioprocess Engineering at Wageningen University & Research from 2005 to 2009. More recently, from 2020 to 2021, they attended Nyenrode Business University to study Business Administration/Management.
